This voltage shift is the raw digital output value, which can then be used to calculate headings or detect magnetic fields coming from different directions. Unlike a mechanical compass, this sensor works in any position or orientation. Thanks to the 12-bit AD converter, the resolution is accurate from 1° to 2°.
