Metagate at ETHMilan 2024: Exploring Mixed Reality on Meta Quest 3

The participation of Metagate at ETHMilan 2024 brought Mixed Reality to the forefront of one of the most anticipated events in the Italian Ethereum landscape. As a proud Media Partner, Metagate invited participants to discover its innovative experiences developed on Meta Quest 3, with demonstrations of advanced prototypes that leverage the potential of mixed reality.

ETHMilan took place from September 26-27, 2024, at the scenic Teatro Franco Parenti and the nearby Bagni Misteriosi. With over 1,000 attendees, the conference was a hub for blockchain innovation, decentralized finance, NFTs, and many other Web3-related topics.

But Metagate's journey in Milan didn't stop there. In addition to attending the main event, Metagate shone in two major side events:

  • Web3 Night Live: On September 25, 2024, at the LUX Gourmet Social Club, Metagate took part in a special event featuring leading figures from the Italian Web3 world. This event, powered by OffChain, ICP.Hub Italia, Crypto Confidential, and other important Web3 communities, saw Metagate participating in interviews, panels, and keynotes centered around Ethereum and its potential for the future.

  • OUT OF THE BLUE: The Reveal Party: On September 27, 2024, at the Holy Club Gallery in Carnate, Metagate participated in an unboxing party that brought together 50 of the best digital artists from the Italian and international scene, part of the DAO. The evening, enriched by the collaboration with PizzaDao, attracted an enthusiastic crowd, with networking moments and the sharing of innovative experiences.

 

 


One experience that fascinated the audience was the virtual fashion show of our Fenix, a wearable that debuted at the Metaverse Fashion Week 2023. The Fenix walked along the pool at Bagni Misteriosi, bringing digital art directly into the physical environment and demonstrating how Mixed Reality can integrate into such evocative contexts.

 

We also played with mixed reality filters to create different environments and moods using special telescopes. 

 

Among Metagate's Mixed Reality experiences, one prototype particularly caught the attention of participants: a virtual puppy that interacted with users by retrieving a ball. Developed for Meta Quest 3, the puppy quickly became the star of the demonstrations, engaging people like no other experience. This prototype, already functional in multiplayer and colocation mode, left everyone amazed, and Metagate plans to add more features, such as the ability to feed it, teach animations, and save progress through user accounts, also thanks to the support of Meta's Oculus Start program.

 

We met several friends like WE ARE NOT and Vandalo R. who were presenting their own artistic projects!

 


Web3 Night Live: on September 25, 2024, at LUX Gourmet Social Club, we engaged with the vibrant Web3 community through interviews, panels, and keynotes with prominent figures and projects in the Italian Web3 scene.



OUT OF THE BLUE: The Reveal Party – On September 27, 2024, join us for the unboxing party at Holy Club Gallery, where 50 of the best digital artists from the DAO studio will present their latest collection. Among them are THEM, Cryptomadonne, Gebelia, and Adriano Lombardo!

Finally, another experience that made a significant impact was the Dracula-themed one, where participants enjoyed battling virtual bats with a crossbow. This experience combined action and gothic atmosphere, offering visitors an immersive and engaging interaction that added a touch of adrenaline to our proposal.

 

In our Metagate Gallery, we included several immersive experiences, including glowing butterflies emerging from virtual portals, creating an extraordinary visual display, especially with the "night" filter activated. This fusion of reality and the digital world left a deep impression on those who had the opportunity to try it.

 

In conclusion, Metagate's participation at ETHMilan 2024 and its side events represented an important step forward in showcasing how Mixed Reality on Meta Quest 3 can revolutionize the way we experience digital environments, particularly in the context of Web3 and blockchain. The positive feedback we received is a testament to the bright future of this technology.
