Guidelines for The Metagate Players

About These Guidelines

We aim to provide a fun and safe experience for all The Metagate explorers across our games, communities, social features, and while exploring the real world.

The guidelines below will help you and other players have a fantastic experience. Any violation of these rules can result in the suspension of your account. It is our responsibility to ensure these rules are clearly communicated and accessible, while it is yours to make sure you learn and respect any additional rules of the communities you are part of.

When interacting with others, remember that some interactions that seem harmless or funny to you may be perceived differently by other players or bystanders.

If you encounter other players violating these guidelines, do not stay with them or get involved. Report the situation to us at info@themetagate.it.

1 - Treat others as you would like to be treated

Unlike many other games, you might actually meet the people you are playing with in the real world. It is in everyone's best interest to maintain a friendly and fun atmosphere. Respect other players and other people you may meet in the game and in the real world.

Here are some principles of respect to keep in mind:

  • Do not defame, abuse, harass, intimidate, harm, stalk, or threaten other players.
  • Be careful not to share the identity or personal data of other players without their consent, even if you know them in person. This includes any information related to another user’s identity, such as their name, phone number, email address, location, or physical address.
  • Respect others' privacy when taking photos or capturing videos or 3D scans. If someone asks you to delete their photo or video, do not hesitate to do so.
  • Do not impersonate brands or other people.

2 - Respect the rules of the real world

Our games are designed to be used outdoors. As with any outdoor activity such as trekking, mountain biking, or outdoor sports, we encourage everyone to be careful and play safely.

Here are some other considerations to keep in mind during real-world adventures:

  • Always pay attention to your surroundings and avoid going into inappropriate, dangerous, or forbidden areas. Avoid trespassing on private property.
  • Behave courteously and respectfully towards other players or bystanders you may encounter during exploration.
  • When outside, players should be aware of the risk of any dangerous situations that may arise from other pedestrians, traffic, and obstacles.
  • As with any mobile app, our games should not be used while driving a vehicle.
  • During live events, make sure to pay attention to other players around you and respect the game rules defined by The Metagate.

For our children's games: Parents should guide and supervise their children's use of the product, paying particular attention to where and how they use mobile apps to ensure they play safely.

If you believe you or someone you know is in imminent danger, immediately contact local authorities for assistance.

3 - Avoid inappropriate content and behavior

We want our players to explore the world together, share interesting content discovered through our products, organize real-world gaming events, and bond through shared experiences. To ensure we achieve this goal, we may review content created by you within our products, reported by other players or automated systems, and take action if deemed inappropriate.

Inappropriate content may include the following:

  • Hate speech or content that promotes hatred based on players’ identities, such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender or gender identity, disability, sex, or sexual orientation, or any other identity factor.
  • Content that promotes, encourages, or supports terrorist organizations or violent extremist groups.
  • Antagonistic speech or actions, including behaviors intended to intimidate, abuse, or harass others.
  • Content posted to defame, abuse, harass, or threaten other players.
  • Content displaying nudity or sexual acts.
  • Content sexualizing minors.
  • Content promoting or supporting illegal activities or facilitating the transaction of prohibited goods.
  • Content including explicit images or gruesome or violent scenes.
  • Spam, ads, promotions, or content created to scam, deceive, or otherwise harm users.
  • Content that infringes others' intellectual property rights, including copyrights or trademarks.
  • Content that promotes the violation of our Terms of Service, behavior policies of these same guidelines.

Keep these guidelines in mind when sharing content and interacting with others with discretion.

These guidelines have been developed considering human rights principles. We support freedom of expression, diversity, privacy, transparency, and due process.

If you violate the player guidelines, we may notify the OVER the Reality platform, requesting them to degrade your gaming experience, temporarily suspend, or permanently close your account, sometimes without prior notice. Depending on the situation, such measures may apply to one, some, or all of the products and services we offer, and you may no longer be allowed to create a new account.
