During the March evening at LUX, besides trying out the headsets, we presented a new experience created especially for LUX Gourmet Social Club: a system for ordering pizzas in augmented reality!
Here is the video!!
The experience was created as usual on the AR platform Over the Reality and geolocated to the land that covers the venue.
Access is via smartphone through the Over app; users can see the pizzas in 3D on a table, browse them, and order directly.
Easy? Not exactly, because the experience is technically the most complex we have created so far!!
In particular, there are 3 advanced features that we tested for the occasion:
1. The first is certainly the precise geolocation through Over's mapping (map2earn program) which, through a preliminary 3D scan of the environment, allows us to achieve placement precision with an error of 20cm! (as with all AR devices, pay attention to lighting conditions)
2. The ordering system is more than a demo and is functional!! Once the pizzas are chosen, you can send the order, and both the user and the restaurateur receive an email with the order summary!!
3. The last feature tested was the connection with the Internet of Things + Alexa system, which provided visual and auditory feedback to those ordering through a light that turned on and a thank you audio message. A second trigger allowed the activation of a candy dispenser!
A special thanks goes to Giorgio Gramegna who not only provided his venue for experimenting with such solutions but also purchased the land in question and carried out the 3D scan of the venue! This allowed us to develop the entire experience independently on Unity (video), then uploading it to his land (NFT OVR-Land).
