On the occasion of ETH Milan 2023, we created an AR experience as Metagate on Over the Reality that would enhance the logo of the event itself, which depicts an Ethereum symbol behind the Sforza Castle in Milan.

The challenge in this case was related to the occlusion effect we wanted to achieve. Occlusion is the technology that allows you to hide (even partially) a digital object behind a real object. This makes the scene absolutely immersed in reality to the point that with hyper-realistic items there can even be the problem that they are not recognized as digital assets.
For ETH Milan, we created a giant red Ethereum logo that would be placed behind the walls of the Sforza Castle. To make everything even more realistic, it was essential to add a dust lifting effect from the ground upon landing and the corresponding dull sound of impact with the ground.
Note of color, during the event for a mattress competition we also uploaded AR sheep that jumped on the mattresses themselves (Video). Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to win..
