Realtà Mista e Infrastrutture: 80 anni di edilizia bellunese interattivi in XR

Mixed Reality and Infrastructure: 80 years of Belluno construction in interactive XR

Mixed Reality and Infrastructure: we told 80 years of construction history in the Belluno area through XR

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the ANCE Belluno Building Contractors Section, Metagate collaborated with Way Experience and Infinite Officine to create an immersive Mixed Reality experience developed for Meta Quest 3, capable of blending historical memory, technological innovation, and the enhancement of the local area.

The exhibition, open to the public from December 5, 2025 to February 2, 2026 in the center of Belluno, celebrates the impact of local construction through a photographic narrative and an immersive digital section accessible via headset. The project is promoted by ANCE Belluno with the patronage of Simico SpA and Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026.

Metagate supported the technological development of the XR application, together with Way Experience and Infinite Officine, transforming five iconic works from the area into immersive three-dimensional experiences: Serrai di Sottoguda, Cerenton Bridge, Rio Gere Viaduct, the Feltre railway bridge and Piazzale Roma in Cortina.

These are the words of Davide Scalisi, Production Director:

Every day we cross bridges, squares, roads—spaces we take for granted. Yet behind each of them there is a choice, a great feat of ingenuity, a vision that has transformed the territory. And when a work changes a territory, it also changes the lives of the people who live there.
This is the impact we wanted to tell through mixed reality.”

A replicable model for industry, culture, and local areas

This project represents a replicable use case for anyone who wants to tell the story of spaces and transformations. Mixed Reality makes it possible to create immersive narratives adaptable to many contexts, for example:

  • Factories or company headquarters: tell the story of production phases, facilities, or local industrial history.
  • Memory of places: show architectural, urban, or environmental transformations with visual reconstructions over time.
  • Immersive tourist itineraries: guide visitors along boat, trekking, or cycling routes with interactive stops and 3D digital content.
  • Zoom on an urban map: explore a city or neighborhood starting from an interactive digital map and “zooming in” on individual locations to reveal points of interest, stories, buildings, characters, or local events.
  • Territorial or museum projects: enhance distributed sites through scalable, customizable experiences that can be activated in any location.

The XR infrastructure developed by Metagate is modular, lightweight, and ready to use, ideal for public bodies, businesses, foundations, and cultural operators.

A thank you from Metagate to Infinite Officine and WAY Experience for involving us in this Mixed Reality project that is so dear to us. We are proud of the result: a benchmark for the entire sector.

We invite everyone to try the experience live, because Mixed Reality isn’t explained—it’s lived. And this is only the beginning!
