Metagate is certainly not one of the key players in OMA3, but it is a committed actor and supporter of the metaverse and Web3 ecosystem. Recently, we decided to join the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3).
OMA3 is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that aims to create an open, decentralized, and fully interoperable metaverse, ensuring that users have control over their digital assets, identities, and data across various platforms without restrictions from platform owners.
This choice was therefore practically mandatory for us, given the strong belief that Web3 and interoperability will be the foundations on which future digital networks will be built.
The participation of Metagate in OMA3 is in line with its vision and the vision of the alliance to promote interoperability, decentralization, and user ownership within the metaverse. Within OMA3, Metagate will have the opportunity to collaborate with other prominent members, including Bee Foundation, Animoca, Yugalabs, Polyhedra, Intraverse, Oltre la Realtà and The Sandbox, etc.. This collaboration aims to develop standards that promote seamless interaction between different virtual worlds and enhance the user experience, ensuring that digital assets such as NFTs can move freely and securely between platforms! (and given the names, this dream can only arise from this context).
The efforts of OMA3 are organized through various working groups focused on specific aspects of the metaverse. Among these are the Portaling and Mapping Working Group, which develops specifications for travel and communication between worlds; the NFT Working Group, which deals with the functionality, usability, and security of NFTs; and the Token and Infrastructure Working Group, which works on the development and implementation of OMA3 tokens and the related infrastructure.
The adherence of Metagate to OMA3 aims to support the creation of an open metaverse where users can interact seamlessly with digital environments, maintain control over their assets, and experience greater interoperability. This partnership underscores the importance of collaboration among Web3 innovators to overcome current limitations and drive the evolution of the metaverse towards a more inclusive and user-centered ecosystem. There are many levels of interoperability possible, but the fundamental one remains the exchange of assets.
