Metagate torna a Casa Sanremo Invest 2026: Mixed Reality, Blockchain, NFT e POAP

Metagate goes back to Casa Sanremo Invest 2026: Mixed Reality, Blockchain, NFT e POAP

Sanremo, 22 and 23 February 2026 – This year again Metagate took part in Casa Sanremo Invest, bringing our vision to the stage: Mixed Reality as a 3D, interactive, and sustainable interface, capable of transforming digital content and products into live “hands-on” experiences. Casa Sanremo Invest is a format conceived and produced by Moneyviz as part of Casa Sanremo.

Two days of demos and discussion

Casa Sanremo Invest was, once again, an ideal setting to explain what we are building and how we are evolving our approach: not just a “wow effect,” but concrete tools for events, brands, and communities, where the user engages with the experience in a natural, immediate, and repeatable way.

Across these two days we focused on:

  • hands-on demos and continuous conversations with the public and industry professionals
  • rapid validation: questions, feedback, objections, real-world use cases
  • attention to the sustainability of the experience: more digital, less material, more reuse

Mixed Reality as a 3D interface

The core of our presence was to let people experience Mixed Reality as an interface: a three-dimensional layer that overlays the real world and enables intuitive interaction with digital objects and content.

When an experience truly works, you can tell from simple signals:

  • the user does not ask “what do I do?”, but starts exploring
  • attention stays high without having to explain too much
  • the technology disappears and only the interaction remains

Web3 focus: integrating blockchain, NFTs, and POAPs

For this edition we paid particular attention to blockchain- and NFT-related use cases, with a precise goal: making Web3 experiential, not theoretical.

Key element: the ability to redeem a POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol), i.e., a digital proof of participation that becomes:

  • a collectible memory of the event
  • a bridge between physical presence and digital identity
  • a foundation for future activations (access, rewards, levels, community) In parallel, the EU framework on traceability is taking shape through the Digital Product Passport (DPP),

Supply chain traceability: from data to visual understanding

In parallel, the EU framework on traceability is taking shape through the Digital Product Passport (DPP), introduced by the ESPR (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781): a digital identity for the product that collects and shares information along the value chain (origin, involved parties, compliance data, etc.), also accessible via QR code.

Here Mixed Reality opens a practical path: using data recorded/anchored on blockchain as an audit trail and turning it into a navigable 3D map of the supply chain, explorable “over” the product (steps, certifications, provenance, batches), reducing cognitive friction compared to dashboards and tables.

The interview with Moneyviz

A central moment was the public discussion during the interview conducted by Gabriele Del Mese (Moneyviz): a useful opportunity to focus, directly, on what it means today to bring Mixed Reality into high-attention contexts such as Sanremo, and why integration with digital (including Web3) becomes a competitive advantage when it is well designed.

On the jury for the Music-Tech Competition

Another important step: being involved in the jury of the Music-Tech competition, thanks to Professor Vincenzo Rana. Taking part as jurors is not only recognition: it is a way to closely observe how innovation is changing the relationship between music, creativity, and technology, and which proposals truly have room to become a product, not just a prototype. Among the awarded projects, Solar Synth, Live Planting and Nux Aurelia Music stood out for their data-driven and experimental approach: the first translates solar wave frequencies and converts them into music; the second produces sounds based on the soil moisture level of plants, turning a biological parameter into sonic input; the third is a musical artist entirely created with artificial intelligence.

OpenGate XR: no-code to reduce production costs and timelines

A concrete part of what we bring to these contexts comes from an operational need: cutting time, complexity, and costs of XR production without losing curatorial quality. OpenGate XR is Metagate’s no-code platform designed precisely for this: creating Mixed Reality exhibitions on Meta Quest 3 without heavy technical pipelines or custom development for every project.

In practice, OpenGate XR enables you to:

  • upload audio, PDFs, images, videos, and 3D models to the cloud
  • place content in real space via hand tracking
  • customize an AI avatar (appearance and knowledge) with voice interaction
  • save and recall scenes at any time
  • enable multiplayer mode for shared experiences

What we’re taking home

Key points that emerged on the ground:

  • Mixed Reality is stronger when it is an interface, not an isolated “piece of content”
  • Web3 makes sense when it unlocks measurable utility (not just collectability)
  • events are the perfect place to test narrative, onboarding, and retention in a few hours

Two intense days, with a clear outcome: interest grows when the experience is immediate and when concepts (even complex ones, like NFTs and blockchain) are translated into actions.
