Culture meets innovation with CLAVIS, the new virtual and immersive gaming experience developed by Metagate for Meta Quest 3 and hosted by the Diocesan Museum of Brescia. A project that transforms the visit into a participatory adventure, where history, art, and technology merge into a single narrative journey.

Set in one of the most fascinating former monasteries in the historic center of Brescia, CLAVIS is much more than a game: it is a Mixed Reality cultural experience designed to guide the public in discovering the secrets, artworks, and history preserved within the museum walls.
A new way to experience the museum through Mixed Reality
With CLAVIS, Metagate brings Mixed Reality into a space of great historical and artistic value, creating an experience capable of engaging the public in an active and memorable way. Thanks to an MR app developed for Meta Quest 3, the museum’s real space is enriched with digital content, immersive scenarios, and interactive objects that integrate perfectly with the physical environment.

The result is a multi-layered narrative in which the visitor does not simply observe, but becomes the protagonist. By moving through the space, collaborating with their team, and interacting with virtual elements, each participant helps advance the story and solve the puzzles scattered along the route.

CLAVIS: an immersive experience of puzzles, history, and collaboration
The experience takes place in the former Monastery refectory, now the Hall dedicated to Mons. Bruno Foresti, and involves teams made up of 3 to 6 participants. At the center of the story is a young friar, the protagonist of a mysterious tale: by solving a series of puzzles, players will be called on to help him uncover the truth about his origins.

This narrative structure makes CLAVIS a perfect example of how Mixed Reality can expand the language of cultural enhancement. Interaction is not an end in itself, but becomes a tool to create participation, learning, and emotional engagement.
Metagate and Meta Quest 3 for innovation in cultural heritage
The project represents a concrete case of applying immersive technologies to the world of culture. With Meta Quest 3 as the enabling device and Metagate’s know-how in developing innovative digital experiences, CLAVIS shows how technology can become a bridge between historical heritage and new audiences.
In particular, the initiative focuses on the 18–35 age group, proposing a format capable of speaking the language of new generations without giving up the depth of cultural content. It is an approach that enhances the museum as a dynamic place, open to experimentation and cross-disciplinary contamination.
A museum looking to the future
The inclusion of CLAVIS in the program of the Diocesan Museum of Brescia confirms an innovation path that has already been underway for some time. The institution stands out for its focus on accessibility, participation, and experimentation with new tools for cultural mediation.
In this context, the collaboration with Metagate demonstrates how Mixed Reality can offer new possibilities for experiencing heritage, making it more accessible, engaging, and contemporary. It is not just about introducing technology into a historic place, but about rethinking the way people relate to art and to the memory of places.

Metagate’s vision
With projects like CLAVIS, Metagate continues to explore the potential of Mixed Reality to create experiences capable of combining technological innovation, storytelling, and participation. The goal is not only to develop immersive applications, but to build new ways of experiencing spaces, content, and relationships between people and places.
CLAVIS is proof that, with the right tools, even a museum can become the stage for an engaging, cultural, and deeply contemporary adventure.
