Metagate torna al MEET con “Immersive Frontiers”: due anni di innovazione in Realtà Mista

Metagate returns to MEET with “Immersive Frontiers”: two years of innovation in Mixed Reality.

Milan, June 19 – 22, 2025 – For the second consecutive year, Metagate was the protagonist of the New Atlas of Digital Art, the event dedicated to the frontiers of digital art hosted by the MEET Digital Culture Center. After the 2024 edition, where it introduced for the first time the Mixed Reality as a narrative tool, the 2025 edition represented an important evolution, focused on the active role of the viewer and the integration between art and technology.

A heartfelt thank you to Maria Grazia Mattei, director of the MEET Digital Culture Center, for believing in Metagate again this year: we are excited about continuing the journey together; and thanks to the entire MEET team for the support!

Super as always Co-Meta with valuable support on the ground and in giving voice and visibility to Mixed Reality experiences on Meta Quest 3!

At the event the CEO Marco Pizzini opened the day on Friday, June 20, on the main stage of MEET, telling how Metagate is transforming Mixed Reality into a new cultural medium, accessible and collaborative. From its debut at MEET in 2024 to today, Metagate has continued to evolve as a creative lab for MR experiences with headsets Meta Quest 3, integrating AI, blockchain and no-code design for expanding accessibility and interaction.

Three immersive MR experiences on Meta Quest 3

The New Atlas of Digital Art 2025 event at the MEET Digital Culture Center confirmed an already evident perception: Mixed Reality (MR) has an edge over Virtual Reality (VR) in engaging the audience and turning interaction into a truly immersive experience.

Metagate, once again this year, has fully explored the innovative and multidisciplinary spirit that characterizes the ATLAS event, bringing three experiences that clearly highlight the unique potential of Mixed Reality.

  1. Unspoken Archive: of Emanuele Dascanio, captured the audience's attention with breathtaking effects and interactions, combining for the first time the Bitcoin blockchain (thanks to Giacomo Gaspari) with thephygital interactivity of experiences in MR. This installation not only surprised but also demonstrated how digital art can become a powerful, interactive, and engaging medium, capable of evoking emotions and provoking thought through the language of Mixed Reality.
  2. Material Exploratory: made in collaboration with the CTRL+J Study Center dell'IUAV University of Venice, has shown how the aesthetics and precision of digital interactions can enhance highly relevant themes, such as the circular economy. Through a clean and intuitive design, this virtual material library has offered an innovative approach to understanding sustainable materials, making MR an ideal tool also for teaching and scientific dissemination. The experience was carried out in collaboration with the CTRL+J(UNK) study center of the IUAV University of Venice (scientific managers: Raffaella Fagnoni e Annapaola Vacanti, research fellow: Martin Romeo).
  3.  Archive of the Future: The Call for Artists Atlas 2025 has presented the 7 selected works, accessible through our new app OpenGate XR that helps the audience become co-creators of the immersive experience. (OpenGate is a no-code builder for MR, co-financed by the European Commission’s SMP programme BEFuture). With this new no-code app OpenGate XR, Metagate has made Mixed Reality accessible and inclusive. The opportunity offered to users to become co-creators of the immersive experience, through the Call for Artists ATLAS 2025, highlighted the versatility of MR as an open, scalable, and collaborative platform. At a crucial moment when, driven by European directives, historical and cultural archives are accelerating towards digitization, offering intuitive solutions to view and interact with content becomes essential: Mixed Reality thus represents a concrete and effective response to make these heritages truly accessible, engaged, and alive in the digital present.

These experiences therefore confirm that Mixed Reality is not just an impressive technology, but a true emerging language capable of bringing people, art, and technology closer together in an increasingly engaging and sustainable ecosystem.
