Metagate participated in the Digital Couture Summit during Milano Fashion Week SS 25, offering a unique immersive experience thanks to the Meta Quest 3 headset. Our participation marked an important milestone in the development of Mixed Reality (MR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, creating an event that blended the physical and digital worlds in a highly creative and innovative context.
Metagate's Custom Experience: Fashion, Technology, and Mixed Reality
In collaboration with Ecoolska and Nikki Cikaluk, Metagate created a virtual fashion show in Mixed Reality that captured the audience's attention. Two digital models, wearing outfits from Ecoolska's new collection, strutted through mesmerizing virtual arches, all set in an environment enhanced by an enveloping green filter. The result was a sensory show demonstrating how fashion and technology can coexist in a virtual space, surpassing the limits of the physical runway.
Lynk & Co: A Mixed Reality Vehicle
But the innovation didn't stop there. Another part of the experience featured Lynk & Co Milan, with the arrival of a digital car in MR that stopped in the middle of the scene. Not only was the vehicle visible in Mixed Reality, but green vines grew from the ground, climbing up surrounding walls, adding a touch of nature to the digital environment. Thanks to Meta Quest 3's hand-tracking, users could intuitively interact with the car, changing its color with a simple virtual button placed on their hand.
A Unique Multiplayer Experience
One of the highlights of Metagate's experience was the multiplayer MR mode, allowing users to interact with each other and exchange digital objects in real time. This feature opened up new creative possibilities, such as the ability to shoot third-person videos where people could be seen moving digital objects in the real world.
